designing donuts

Tired of the same ol’ donut? Wish you had an extra $12,000 lying around? Dunkin’ Donuts is holding a contest to see who can design the best donut, and the grand prize winner will pocket the cash. I created my version of the perfect donut, and called it “The Wicked Noodle’s Chocolate Mint Bavarian”. It’s easy to do - just choose your shape, dough, filling, frosting and toppings, then register on the site and you’re entered into the contest. You can also check out what other contestants have created, and the competition looks stiff! Makes me want to go grab a donut for breakfast. Or lunch!

A “Wicked Noodle Chocolate Mint Bavarian” doughnut sounds mighty good right about now. So does an extra $12,000. I am such a sucker for doughnuts…and, it turns out, doughnut design contests. Thanks for the link, and good luck in the contest! (What will you do with the cash if you win?) ;)
Hmmm…what would I do with the cash…well, this isn’t too exciting but I’d probably either pay the bills, put it into savings, or build a new deck. I’d also love to take my girls to FAO Schwartz and say, “Get anything you want!!” Now THAT would be fun!

Have you heard of the Fractured Prune? There’s one in Chantilly and one in Leesburg (among other sites long the Eastern seaboard). They have the BEST donuts ever! I didn’t even like donuts until I had one from there.
I’ve heard of them but haven’t tried their donuts yet. I might have to make it a priority now, though! If we buy donuts we usually get them at the Little Apple Pastry Shop in Aldie; they’re pretty good there but I’d love to try a new place!
