some things in life are free

free-1000-x-1000When I started this food blog back in January (seems like forever!), it never occurred to me that super nice strangers would send emails asking if they could pretty please send me free food products to try.  Free food – free anything, really – is pretty much right up there on my list with some of the best things in life, and I really can’t imagine saying no!  And as a result, a new category had been born here at the ol’ noodle…product reviews.  How fun is that?!!

I’ve already received a few different products, all of which are happily residing in my fridge and pantry, waiting to be turned into something yummy enough to be shared with you!    Here is the list of the ingredients that will be coming up in posts over the next week or two:

Having all these new products allows me to try some recipes that I otherwise wouldn’t have.  Yesterday I made a little mushroom appetizer with some hummus, feta and tomato…okay, I probably would have made that anyway, but a little prompting never hurts!  I also made some killer DIRT deviled eggs, and some ”fried” chicken – baked in DIRT - is on the menu for tonight.  I can’t wait for dinner!

Free means I can pass along some of the fun to you guys, too!  Casual contests and giveaways are on the menu, so keep an eye out! ;-)
