easy pot pressure maker
I’m always wishing there were more hours in the day. Here’s a cool new product that won’t give you hours, but the minutes it will save you will add up throughout the week – you’ll have enough time for an extra glass of wine at the end of the week!
The nice folks that created the “Easy Pot Pressure Maker” were kind enough to send me their product to try out. The claim is that by attaching a silicone gasket via two rings connected to spring fasteners, you can turn virtually any pot into a pressure maker, thereby reducing your cooking time by up to thirty percent.
I was making brown rice the other night when I suddenly remembered my Easy Pot Pressure Maker that had arrived from Israel the week before. I always seem to forget that brown rice takes over twice as long as white, and I was short on time. Hopeful that my new little contraption could help, I read the instructions and took out my pot.
Unfortunately, my pot lids have a dome shaped handle, not the “knob” kind that’s needed for this contraption.
That’s right, no place for the middle ring to clasp to, and that was obviously a big problem. Thankfully, I haven’t been able to let go of a very old dutch oven that my husband bought himself in college and I inherited upon meeting and marrying him. This time the lid fit the bill, and off to the stove it went.
It took only a minute to assemble the very first time, and once assembled I just let ‘er go on the stove. I began checking the rice at 25 minutes, then 30 and 35…voila!! Perfect rice, done 10-15 minutes sooner than if I hadn’t used my new Easy Pot Pressure Maker!
This simple contraption will definitely save you a bit of cooking time, so if you’re looking for something to help you out in that department, then The Wicked Noodle gives it a thumbs up. The only con that we found is that you have to have the proper lids for it, but that’s no fault of the product itself, just consider that before you purchase.

I was thrilled to see on your list of things to cook in the pressure cooker Chicken Paprika! Wow I haven't made that in a long time! The new pot sounds great – I have an oldie but goodie – only use it really in the winter when I tend to cook more stews etc. This is salad weather and I find I avoid the kitchen as much as possible in the summer!
I love using a pressure cooker. Amazing the amount of time it shaves down from cooking.
Do their instruction say anything about canning with it? I need a new one since canning season is quickly approaching.
I have one and will do a can test for you just email me with the canning recipe and I will tell you the results.
