I've been eyeballing this book in stores and I was thisclose to giving "real" breadmaking a chance. If any book could entice me to try, it's this one. So many recipes, tips and healthy goodness in one book! So when I was contacted about receiving a book for review I jumped at the chance. Admittedly, I have not actually made any of the recipes, but trust me when I say that I should. In fact, I should be in my kitchen right now, wiping flour from the countertop and reveling in the smell of the healthy, delicious bread that I created with my own hands. Yet, instead I sit here at my computer. What a lazy, lazy girl. The good news is that YOU can benefit from my laziness! Yes, I've decided that although I adore this book and would love to keep it for my very own - or give it to someone close to me as a fabulous Christmas gift - I'm going to give it to one of my fabulous readers as a Christmas gift instead. Tis better to give than to receive, right? To enter my giveaway, please leave a comment below and tell me what your favorite kind of bread is! That's it, friends. Easy peasy. But first, please read below some groovy info from the publicist who was kind enough to send me this awesome book:Their first book was called "stupendous," "genius," and "the holy grail of bread making." Now, in their much-anticipated second book, Jeff Hertzberg, M.D., and Zoë François have taken their super-fast method and adapted it for the health-conscious baker, focusing on whole grains and other healthier ingredients. The method is still quick and simple, producing professional-quality results with each warm, fragrant, hearty loaf. In just five minutes a day of active preparation time, you can create delectable, healthy treats such as 100% Whole Wheat Bread, Whole Grain Garlic Knots with Parsley and Olive Oil, Black-and-White Braided Pumpernickel and Rye Loaf, Cherry Black Pepper Focaccia, Pumpkin Pie Brioche, Chocolate Tangerine Bars, and a variety of gluten-free breads. And many of the recipes are 100% whole grain. Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day will show you that there is time enough for home-baked bread, and that it can be part of a healthy diet. Calling all bread lovers: Whether you are looking for more whole grains, watching your weight, trying to reduce your cholesterol, or just care about what goes into your body, this book is a must-have. Author Bios Jeff Hertzberg, M.D., coauthor of Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day: 100New Recipes Featuring Whole Grains, Fruits, Vegetables, and Gluten- Free Ingredients, is a physician with twenty years of experience in health care as a practitioner, consultant, and faculty member at the University of Minnesota Medical School. His interest in baking and preventive health sparked a quest to adapt the techniques of Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day for healthier ingredients. Zoë François, coauthor of Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day: 100New Recipes Featuring Whole Grains, Fruits, Vegetables, and Gluten-Free Ingredients, is passionate about food that is real, healthy, and always delicious. She is a pastry chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America. In addition to teaching baking and pastry courses nationally, she consults to the food industry and is the creator of the recipe blog www.zoebakes.com. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two sons. The authors answer bread questions at their Web site, Healthy Bread in Five. I'll announce the winner just after the new year begins. Good luck, guys!

My favorite type of bread is a tie between crusty french bread or crusty sourdough. Yum, yum, yum!
I love whole wheat bread w/ tons of seeds inside!
I have to pick just one?!? What about the cheese bubble loaf? Crusty baguettes? Croissants? Jewish Rye Bread? Probably my favorite, though, includes Rosemary. Maybe a Rosemary french roll. Mmm.
My favorite kind of bread is pandesal, small Filipino bread rolls I used to eat every morning when I visited my family in the Philippines. I'd especially love dunking them in my morning hot cocoa!
My favorite is a staple here in Hawaii….Portuguese Sweet Bread! No better bread to use for French Toast! Yummm!!!
This looks just like a loaf of bread i just purchased at the Jensen Center Christmas craft and bake sale last Saturday. It was wonderful and i plan to try and bake it .We are trying to do healthier breads and to know what goes in them. I am really looking for the fast and easy. Dad —who has never made a thing but popcorn now makes your beer bread with dates or raisin nut. It is wonderful.
My favorite bread is crusty sourdough
Thanks
Dick

Catie
My favorite kind of bread is soft on the inside with a good chewy yet crunchy crust that wont break your teeth. I have a thing for Ciabatta bread.
I like to make quick breads so banana bread (no nuts) is a fav along with pumpkin bread but pretty much I haven't met a bread I don't like.
I have a passion for dough and love making bread. I actually have this cookbook and I would love to give it to someone and teach them how easy and good these breads turn out. My fav is bagels. Thanks! Sonia
I love "health nut" bread! Best grilled cheese in the world =o) Also love baking ANY kind, simply for the way it makes my house smell!
I love a whole grain bread with nuts in it! :)
my favorite who be a crusty honey whole wheat…yummm
I love challah bread, but a good crusty farmer's bread can never go wrong.
I love any kind of bread that has cheese in it or on it whether its asiago, or jalapeno cheese…bread and cheese are my weakness!!
My favorite homemade bread is simply Joy of Cooking's white sandwich bread. It's good for most everything from dipping in olive oil+spices to making grilled cheese.
"Admittedly, I have not actually made any of the recipes, but trust
me when I say that I should." You are way too cute.
If the giveaway is open to Canadians, count me in! :) This book looks like FUN.
My favourite kind of bread is banana bread. Tastydeliciousgoodness. But I'm also a big fan of really good quality multigrain bread. And toasted focaccia. And long sticks of fresh French bread smeared with butter. I, um, really like bread.
I'm into sprouted bread lately and I love no knead ww sourdough! Before I became vegan I could eat an entire loaf of great harvest apple scrapple tho:)
I've seen this book around the blog world a lot and I would love to own it! ; )
I love whole wheat bread with nuts and seeds inside..yummy!
My favorite kind of bread is whole wheat bread that is perfectly crusty on the outside and full of seeds on the inside. Whether it is flaxseeds, pumpkin, sunflower, etc. Crunchy and healthy. I would really enjoy this book!
Hi!
I love walnut's bread, and spelt'bread.
Cheers from Barcelona!
PD: do not send me the book to Barcelona; i would be too expensive!I'd only like to participate. Congratulations again for your blog.
I am a huge fan of ciabatta. I discovered it in Spain and a local bakery did it so well, I am still trying to find a recipe to match theirs!
Otherwise a no knead bread is always a crowd pleaser and so perfect for the lazy girl in me.
I love Pumpernickel.. wheaty & sweet… yum… Love it.
Ah great give away! Great book! My favorite bread must be challah. Even better than brioche, all cozy, sweet and dense.
French baguettes. Oh my, but the ones from the boulangerie that was near the flat I stayed in in Paris were the most delicious thing I've ever had.
Banana Bread! Blueberry bread! Cinnamon and nuts too much?
My favorite type of bread is cinnamon raisin bread… I'm hungry just thinking about it!
I love banana bread and challah bread! Oh, and cinnamon raisin bread.
Ahhh – breadmaking is one of those things that terrifies me, much like pastry. However, when I attempt to break out the breadmaking machine that I just had to have last year, it's my rosemary parmesan bread that kicks butt.
My favorite bread is 12 grain.
Thank you for the entry. Happy holidays!
I think my favorite is Hawaiian bread, but what I mostly make is banana bread with whole wheat flour and applesauce (sneak some healthy stuff in for the kids!)
My favorite bread is potato bread. Although nothing beats a good slice of cinnamon raisin toast!
oh to choose a favorite bread, difficult, but it has definitely got to be a sourdough. had some of the best sourdough bread over in san francisco, and would love to start making my own, because the sourdough in chicago is just not as good [but still delightful].
I have a thing for tomato basil bread right fresh out of the maker (or from panera bread on a bacon turkey bravo!)!!
Fantastic! This sounds like a great cookbook! :) I love 100% Whole Grain bread–especially when it's got bits and pieces of the grains in it.
hmm… whole grain with a lot of seeds is definitely a favorite…
but, really? i just love bread… crusty bread, sourdough, quick breads, cheese bread, mmm bread.
there are so many…. but I gotta go with a cinnamon- no raisin -bread.
This should be easy. I am French… I should be a baguette lover, right? Wrong. I'd rather have a hearty crusty ciabatta. Fell in love with this bread in Spain and since then, my crush on this crust has not faded. Ever.
sourdough bread, no question.
Rye bread, garlic bread, bagels….pretty much all bread!
I have their first book and *love* it! I'd have to say sourdough is my favorite overall, though it's hard to pick just one :)
There is nothing like the small and taste of homemade bread… that brings back childhood memories of eating it fresh out of the oven, almost faster then Mom could bake it. Any fresh out of the oven is my favorite… I love trying new breads.
I love, love, love fresh sourdough… but I love fresh, simple whole wheat too… pretty much put any fresh bread in front of me and I'm a happy girl!
