A few years ago, I had the opportunity for a travel assignment with Princess Cruises. I’d cruised in the past, but that was my first time on that line.
The experience spoiled me for all other cruise lines. We loved it all, from the friendly staff to the AMAZING food. I felt that everything was a few notches above, but the food? I can’t express how much better it was with Princess.
And now, one of the newest, most elegant ships in the Princess fleet, will make her West Coast debut in March 2019. She’s called the “Royal Princess”, and she’s recognized around the world for having been officially named in 2013 by Her Royal Highness, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge.
The Royal Princess has some exciting features. One of those is the overwater SeaWalk – a 60-foot-long glass walkway standing 128 feet above the ocean. Just look at how gorgeous it is! What a treat to walk out over the ocean on such a beautiful ship.
Royal Princess also features the expansive Lotus Spa with The Enclave, home to Princess‘ largest-ever thermal suite and a dramatic hydro-therapy pool with a cascading rain shower and therapeutic air jets. It offers an array of services and secluded couples treatment rooms. The pool is simply stunning and looks so relaxing.
Royal Princess will sail to the Mexican Riviera, California Coast, Hawaii, and Alaska. My sister lives in Anchorage and the Alaska cruise is at the top of my vacation list. Although I’d take any of them! I’ve never been to Hawaii so that’s another top choice.
When I cruised with them, we went from Santa Monica to Ensenada, Mexico. We toured a winery in Ensenada and it was one of the neatest experiences I’ve ever had. Having lived in Southern CA for many years, we used to drive down to Baja, Mexico all the time and Ensenada was always included in those trips. Even though I’d been there so many times, I never knew it had such a beautiful winery there!
I try to get back to CA whenever I get the change. San Diego is one of my favorite places there. La Jolla is just north of San Diego and it’s a must-see if you haven’t been.
Royal Princess also boasts a live television studio; adults-only Retreat Pool and Sanctuary; and newly re-branded Camp Discovery youth center. With so much to do on this amazing ship, I’ll be booking my travel soon!
