Easy Game Day Meals

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Safeway for Albertsons. All opinions are 100% mine.

How amazing does this easy game day meal look??

Since we were the lucky ones who enjoyed it, I can tell you that it was even more delicious than it appears. The fact that I didn’t have to prepare even one of the dishes made for a very relaxing – and time-saving – evening!

We don’t watch a lot of football but we do turn it on for the Packers and the Patriots. Die-hard fans in this house but for opposing teams! We live in Washington Football Team’s area (formerly known as Redskins) so we’ll tune in for some of those games, too.

All of this is to say that despite not watching football every Sunday, we still have a lot of game day meals to prepare.

I always pick up some freshly-cut fruit from Safeway to keep on our game day meal and snack table. Strawberries are our favorite, although they also have watermelon, pineapple, mixed berries, etc. The fruit is always so fresh, juicy and FLAVORFUL. There’s nothing worse than spending money on fruit that’s tasteless, and I’ve never once had that issue at Safeway.

The fruit in the photo above was taken three days after purchasing. Look how fresh it still is!

Rob’s favorite side salad is coleslaw so that’s what I always serve. I’m not exaggerating when I say that he’ll eat the entire container in one sitting! It’s a family joke since my mom now knows that she must always have some ready for him when we’re over. Picking some up from Safeway is so easy (there’s a location in Middleburg, VA on our drive out there) plus it’s delicious! It has the perfect contrast of crunch and creaminess.

Prepared chicken dishes from the Safeway deli make a perfect main course. I picked up a rotisserie chicken this time, sliced it and plated it once we were ready to eat. They also have chicken wings in various flavors which are perfect for both a family game day meal or a party.

And, of course, there must be a dessert! My girls LOVE the freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies from Safeway’s bakery department. They are so good and taste so much better than any store-bought cookies I’ve ever tried.

You can find the highest quality deli, bakery, and produce game day offerings in the Northern VA area exclusively at Safeway stores.

Safeway also offers Grocery Delivery and DriveUp & Go™ for convenient ways to shop! I’ve only used delivery so far but it’s been a snap. My groceries have always arrived quickly. It really makes my life so much easier, especially since I can order and have it delivered at my convenience.

I shopped at Safeway in my local area, but you can also find quality game day products at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Shaw’s Supermarket, Star Market, and Tom Thumb.
