Let’s Talk School Lunch!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Safeway. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve talked a lot about food shopping on this blog, including where I shop and what I like to buy to help you streamline mealtime as well as make meals that everyone loves. Yet I haven’t shared much about what I make for my kids for their meals away from home, like when they’re gone all day at school.

Or, as is the case currently, when they’ve got a packed school schedule with distance learning, yet they still need a healthy, delicious lunch that’s ready for them at lunchtime.

School lunch is actually one of my favorite things to make and pack. You can get as creative as you like or keep it simple. I typically opt for easy, but it still has to be healthy and tasty since I want my kids to eat the entire meal to keep them going throughout the day.

Per usual, I ordered our groceries from Safeway and they were on my doorstep in just a few hours. I always choose Safeway for their high-quality lunchmeats, cheeses, and snack packs that make packing lunches a breeze. The products I buy are always fresh cut or sliced, and the deli meat (I usually go with ham) tastes like you just sliced it from the bone. Seriously! Check out this close up of the sandwich to get an idea – it looks and tastes just like fresh ham:

To go along with the “main course”, I like to add a couple of “sides” and as well as a delicious treat. My go-to choices – especially since my kids love them – are pretzels & hummus along with some freshly cut apple slices. I don’t even have to cut the apples since Safeway does the work for me! Five minutes to make and pack school lunches? YES.

The Fresh-Cut snack packs come in all Fruit (like the apples here), Almond & Cheese, or Fruit & Cheese and are found in the produce section.

The pretzels & hummus also come together in a convenient snack pack so all you have to do is toss it in their lunch box. They also come in a guacamole and tortilla chips combo pack and salami and cheese snack packs. Check the deli at your local Safeway for these!

Also, if you’re not currently shopping in stores, Safeway offers Grocery Delivery and DriveUp & Go™ for convenient ways to shop!

I shop at Safeway in my local area, but you can also find quality grilling and produce items at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Shaw’s Supermarket, Star Market, and Tom Thumb.
