Wegmans Exclusive Alpine King Salmon Sushi

Where are my sushi lovers?! My guess is that if you’re reading this, you’re already on board. We’re a family of sushi lovers, so when Wegmans asked if I wanted to give theirs a try, I was immediately in.



I’ve already told you about my love for Wegmans, dating all the way back to when I had to write a customer service paper after visiting one of their locations. These days, we go there at least weekly, often much more. I do my big grocery shop there and we pop in for lunch or dinner, too. 



My daughter Kylie literally BEGS me to go to Wegmans for the Alpine King salmon sushi. Not just any of their sushi (although it’s all delicious and made fresh daily) – the salmon sushi. It’s her favorite meal! It’s actually become somewhat of a joke in our house because we all know how desperately she craves it. I immediately texted both of my girls when I found out I had the opportunity to share our love for it. 



This past Monday, I didn’t tell them but went ahead and picked up more Alpine King salmon sushi from Wegmans than we could eat! It was quite a spread. I had it all laid out and ready for them when they walked in the door from school. Kylie told me that she was going to ask if we could get some that night, so she was especially excited!



I learned a few things about Wegmans sushi that I hadn’t known before. First, this particular salmon is harvested exclusively for Wegmans – you can’t buy it anywhere else! It comes from the fresh Alpine waters of New Zealand and has a mild, buttery flavor. Their ingredients make for the BEST sushi, especially since they don’t use any artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. And if you’re gluten-free, it will work perfectly for your diet, too – Wegmans sushi is made with no gluten-containing ingredients!



The other thing I’m really excited about is their new King of Poke Salad, coming soon to all stores!! I hadn’t tried these before, but I’m so in love with them. The flavor is amazing and it has a wonderful texture contrast between the Alpine King salmon and the crunchy vegetables and pistachios. Rob and I are both eating keto these days, so we enjoyed the fact that it’s made with zucchini noodles and arugula instead of rice.
