reese’s peanut butter bars
DO NOT MAKE THESE BARS…if you don’t want to eat the whole pan.
I’ve been meaning to try these bars for three years – no exaggeration! I found the recipe on Recipezaar and every time I see it, I always think the same thing: “I really need to make these bars”. They get crazy high ratings from everyone who tries them, they take only five ingredients and you don’t even bake them! And now that I’ve actually made them, I’m only sorry I didn’t do it long ago. These are the kind of bars you make to take to a friend who needs cheering up, to a sick neighbor, or for a kid who did a great job on something. I have to be careful not to make them too often because they’re extremely addicting (I thought about changing the title to “crack bars”…lol) and I find them very hard to resist! But if you’re in the mood for something rich and sweet, then these are for you!
Enjoy!
reese’s peanut butter bars
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (I plan on trying Rice Krispies next time)
- 1 lb powdered sugar (3 to 3 1/2 cups)
- 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 (12 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips
Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and peanut butter and mix well. Blend in melted butter until well combined. Press mixture evenly into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Melt chocolate chips in microwave or in double boiler. Spread over peanut butter mixture. Chill until just set and cut into bars (these are very hard to cut if the chocolate gets “rock hard”).

Oh no, Kristy… You know I'm gonna have to make these now (then eat them all) and my WiiFit will be so mad at me… But who cares? They look gorgeous!
Wow, these look incredibly indulgent!
I love these bars! I try not to make them a lot – they are addicting!!
Ooof dangerous! These are the kind of treats one picks at non-stop all day long, right? They remind me of something similar we used to get when we were kids that I absolutely loved! Thanks for sharing this very cool recipe!

Just like Moms peanut butter balls at Christmas.
Just make into balls and dip in the cho.
Great easy recipe and nice for summer-no hot oven.

MOM – I knew these tasted familiar! Can't wait to make them into balls :-) Never quite as good as when you make them, though!
I’ve never had anything like these! They sure look fantastic!
It would be hard for me to resist eating just one of them is present in front of me. This one is too tempting!!
My husband would kill me if I made these — but secretly he'd love me even more.
These just look so irresistibly good! I can just imagine the beautiful flavour. Thanks for sharing.
Wow – these look amazing!
oh yes, i have made these guys before. i thought freezing them would keep me from eating the entire pan. and then i realized they were AMAZING straight from the freezer.
Oh yes…I've made these once, and it's an amazing testimony to my self-control that I haven't made them again every day since then! I was looking at the recipe the other day, too. So good!
I'm excited to try this recipe. Peanut butter and chocolate are my husband's favorite flavors. Thanks for sharing!
This looks really yummy. Can't wait to try it over the weekend when my nieces come to visit.
I just put these on my list of things to make this week!
Thanks! They look easy and delicious! Glad I found your blog!
Sue
My recipe says to melt 3/4 cups of peanut butter into the topping, so there's that option too.
I am having a party next weekend, I am definitely trying these!
Hi Kristy,
I dont live in America so we dont have Graham crackers. Could you tell me what else you could use as a replacement. They look amazing.
I make mine using brown sugar instead of the Graham cracker. A little sweeter, but amazing!

Omigoodness. Mom used to make these when I was a kid. Use chunky peanut bar – it rocks!
these were way too good. thanks a lot.
This is for you Mary.
I love making these. Each I make them I add another handful of candy to it. I wonder how much it can hold ;-) Love that first pic, really cool
i never use butter or oil in these kind of desserts. they are always delicious.
I think the butter adds a necessary richness, but by all means, make it the way you like. That’s what cooking and baking is all about :-)
These look so yummy! Will definately be trying these! Today I made peanut butter layer brownies & I can barely wait for them to set!
