Quick & Easy Late Night Snacks: No Recipe Required

When it comes to late night snacks, it doesn’t have to be fancy, and you definitely don’t want it to require a lot of effort. Honestly, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and the only thing I can round up is pickles and lunch meat, but it does the trick at 2 AM. But I know you want something that’s a little better than that!

Here are some quick and easy no recipe required ideas for good late night snacks that are ready to eat in 5 minutes or less:

  • Make chocolate covered pretzels by melting chocolate chips in a bowl and dipping your favorite pretzels. Or swap the pretzels for strawberries.
  • Make easy avocado toast by smearing with avocado and topping with your favorites like cheese, sliced tomatoes, or salsa.
  • Smear a tortilla with cream cheese, add a few slices of lunch meat (add avocado if you’re feeling fancy), and roll it up.
  • Dip apple slices in peanut putter or almond butter or drizzle them with melted chocolate.
  • Make a parfait with fruit, yogurt, and granola.
  • If you have leftover rotisserie chicken (or any meat for that matter) in the fridge, wrap it in a tortilla with some shredded cheese, avocado, and salsa.
  • If you have edamame on hand (especially the kind still in the pods), heat it up a bit, then toss it in a splash of sesame oil, a splash of chili oil, and salt.
  • Make top ramen, and stir an egg into it like egg drop soup. Cup of Noodles is always a good late night snack too if you have them on hand.
  • Make strips and cheese – just tortilla strips/chips with shredded cheddar cheese, melted in the microwave.
  • Cereal and milk. We recommend old school cereal like Cap’n Crunch and Apple Jacks or popular favorites like Cheerios and Frosted Flakes. Throw some banana slices on top too!
  • Toast Tacos: While a piece of bread is toasting, zap your favorite precooked or leftover meat in the microwave. Put meat in the middle of toasted bread, add the toppings of your choice, fold the bread and eat. It’s the solution when there are no tortillas in the house.
  • Monkey salad: Sliced banana, handful of blueberries, drizzle of almond butter and top with coconut flakes and cashews.
  • Classic cheese and crackers with or without salami or pepperoni.
  • Keep a box of frozen soft pretzels on hand and a jar of nacho cheese dip. Boom. Easy midnight snack problem solved.
  • Greek yogurt with almonds and honey is a great healthy alternative.
  • Everything bagel microwave popcorn.
  • Halve a bagel, put a tomato slice on it (and a slice of bacon if you have any precooked) then put a slice of cheese over it and pop it in the toaster oven or air fryer until the cheese starts to melt.
  • Throw a frozen burrito in the microwave, then top it with salsa and avocado to dress it up and make it more substantial.
