50 Easy Game Day Dips

Updated: Jan 28, 2024 ยท Published: Dec 29, 2022 by Kristy Bernardo ยท 22 Comments

We've rounded up 50 easy Gameday Dips that are perfect for any big sports event because no watch party is complete without the dips.

Whether you are a die hard sports fan who watches every game, or someone who just tunes in to the Super Bowl for the big event (and the commercials), game day is a great time to relax, unwind, and enjoy the company of friends and family while grazing on dips and watching sports.

Most of America eats the same way on game days: grazing on chips, dips, finger-foods and artery-clogging appetizers.. Out comes the good beer and the wine bottles get put away. Calories don't count (goodbye New Year's Resolutions!), and it's not only acceptable to yell at the television, but it's also preferred.

Super Bowl Dips List

How to Make Store Bought Dip Better

While nothing is better than homemade dip you may just need a shortcut. Here are a few tips for dressing up a pre-made dip:

  • Mix-ins: For any dip consider adding fresh herbs, dried spices, citrus juice, cheese, fruit, veggies, pre-made seasonings, nuts or seeds.
  • A splash of oil: Adding oil such as olive oil or chili oil is another easy way to upgrade a dip.
  • Heat: Add a spicy kick to your dip with hot sauce, sambal, gochujang, jalapenos, or chili or pepper flakes.
  • Garlic: Roasted or diced garlic will add a subtle sweetness to a dip.
  • Citrus: Add a citrusy flavor with fresh lemon, lime, or orange juice.
  • Protein: A creamy or cheesy dip is a perfect pairing for mixing sausage, ham, bacon, meatballs or other proteins.
  • Unique ideas: Try adding kimchi, pickled relish, or dried cranberries.
  • Guacamole: Add avocado oil, diced tomatoes, basil, cilantro, mint, cheese or fresh lemon or lime juice. Make the guacamole chunky with fresh avocado mixed into a store bought guacamole dip or add salsa or pico de gallo.
  • Hummus: Add olive oil, fresh lemon juice, mint, pine nuts, tahini, sumac, smoked paprika, marinated artichoke hearts, beets, cucumber, red onion, olives, feta, parsley, cilantro, or pomegranate arils.

While you're at the grocery store considering visiting the deli or salad bar area for many of these upgrades.

Here is a round-up of the Best Game Day Dip Recipes we've made over the years, plus a few extras. If you're not sure what to make you'll surely be inspired after checking out these Game Day dip ideas!

OoOOoO what fantastic looking dips! Yes, that crab dip especially does look very delectable. I love crab, but whenever I've tried to serve it as a dip, it doesn't look so fancy lol.

Hi Wickednoodle and fans! As usual this is a great post! I usually make a taco dip which consists of taco chips and the dip: cream cheese, cottage cheese, tex mex powder, and topped shredded cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and green onions. It is usually such a great hit at parties, but I think it is time to spice it up a little and try something new. Thanks again for all your wonderful recipes!

Dip served in a cabbage bowl is such a fun and creative idea! I suppose one could even put their favorite dip inside a carved out pumpkin for Thanksgiving or Halloween as well. Nice tips! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow! I've never thought of incororating a *sweet* dip into any Superbowl party... but it's true! There IS a need for a sweet ending. See, if people are depressed that their team lost, they will have something sweet to make them feel better! And if they won, well, who doesn't love a sweet dessert to celebrate!
